David & Candise Wade
Monday’s @ 6:30pm Ypsilanti,Mi (near EMU)
Meet David and Candise! They moved to Ann Arbor in 2017, when David began his graduate studies at the University of Michigan. They found a new church home in Refuge pretty quickly, thanks to sound biblical teaching and a loving community that felt like family. David spends most of his days writing, reading, and - this coming fall - teaching, while Candise helps small businesses maximize their online presence. They look forward to growing deep relationships in Home Group, and can't wait to pursue Jesus together.
Joel & Angie Waldman
Wednesday/Thursday’s @ 7pm Saline, MI
Joel and Angie have been married for 5 years and just welcomed their first child, Max, into the world in May. They live on the south side of Ann Arbor and are looking forward to meeting and getting to know couples and families in the area. They enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, and the great outdoors.
Adam & Nikki McCullough
Tuesday’s @ 6:30pm Superior Township (north Ypsilanti)
Meet Adam and Nikki McCullough. They have been married for 18 years and have two boys, Casey (15 years) and Carter (12 years). Nikki is a work from home/home school mom and Adam works in IT at a local software company in Ann Arbor. They moved to the area 2 years ago when God placed it on their heart to be a part of a new church plant, now Refuge Church. Being the parents of one teenage boy and another one not too far off, walking beside other parents in their parenting journey has been a huge calling that they’ve felt placed on their hearts. Being able to come together with others as they walk through life in a home group setting has been a huge blessing.
“We like to think we have created a judge-free zone where no matter what you’re going through in life, you know its safe to share and allow others to help you along the way,” says the McCulloughs. They would love to have you!
Dan & Kathy Scott
Thursdays @ 2:00pm North Ann Arbor
Dan and Kathy Scott both participated in Christian community as undergraduates at the University of Michigan, but didn’t meet until a few years after graduating. They married in 1980 and have lived in Ann Arbor ever since, raising four children, their lives rich in parenting, scouts and soccer. They have been deeply involved with church, helping with worship, leadership, and a whole lot of Sunday School. Dan retired recently from the UofM Health System where he spent the bulk of his 35+ year career in IT management. He now spends much of his time writing and playing the guitar. Kathy is still active as a teaching aide and resource specialist for a local Christian school, and regularly cares for their grandson. They are happy to serve the folks at Refuge, helping to draw closer as a body and to our loving Father.
